A Christmas Surprise!

I'm posting a few lines from Teresa that I thought you'd all enjoy.
"Dear Family,
Well, it sounds like everyone who participated in the secret santa this year had fun.  I'm sorry that I didn't explain it well enough for some and too well for others.  We had only five primary family members (and their immediate family) who didn't participate this year, but hopefully will next year.  I messed up a few names, so many thanks to all.  It was a lot of fun for me and I think it brings us closer, gets us to know each other and helps us to stay a little more in touch.  Thanks again....
A NOTE FOR ARIZONA THANKSGIVING GOERS...
Grammy, Anne and I were making the grocery list one day prior to shopping.  As the list continued to grow, I took a few wagers on the total cost of food for 24 people.  We had 9 people guess and the winner WAS...ASHTON EDDIE...I am looking at my grocery list now and on the back is my list of people and their $ amount, So I did not cheat.  I have been keeping this messy paper and want to throw it away, but did not want to forget and not reward the winner, so I have sent him a few goofy gifts....Love to all!"
IS ANYONE READING THIS DEAN'S KIDS BLOG OUT THERE??  RESPOND WITH A HELLO AND A REPORT ON WHAT THE LATEST AND GREATEST IS IN YOUR WORLD - OR IF YOU'VE GOT SOME STRUGGLES THAT YOU WOULD LIKE A SUPPORTIVE FAMILY TO HEAR ABOUT.
LOVE TO ALL,
Anne

Let the meeting begin...

Sorry for the poor quality of pics, but it's better than none- right?!!!

This was a little meeting or family gathering at Grammy's house last week.  We came to discuss plans for Dean's Kids' projects. Mom gave all her siblings a copy of Uncle Don's thoughts about growing up with Gramps. It was funny to hear about Aunt Kathy who really stole the brownie out of the pan, after all those years, she just couldn't hold onto the guilt any longer!!!! Mom also read a really cute paper she wrote in 3rd grade about her daddy. I loved it!
In this meeting, we decided to continue working on Dean's Kids' projects.  I think Gramps is smiling down on all of us and so proud we're continuing his legacy of service and love.
We worked on making "lovies" for sick babies at the hospital.  We cut 6x6 pieces of flannel and then sewed them together.  The mom's that have to leave their sick babies at the hospital will put that "lovie" on them for a short time which will then leave their smell. The nurses give the "lovie" to the baby which gives them comfort and helps them continue to grow strong and healthy without their mom for a short time. Auntie Teresa has some pictures of the project and I'll put them on soon.
Uncle Brent and Auntie Sheila are in charge of the next project.  They would like us to each work with a shut-in ( i.e. older person, someone sick, or just can't get out easily) or a latch key child. You can make a hygiene kit or just spend time with that person. I hope I have that right.  If not, please let me know.  Then we will all report back to this website to share our experiences.  I'm pretty sure you all have access to this website, but if not, you can e-mail me and I will post any pictures or info you'd like. My e-mail is cmta1243@yahoo.com. I love you all so much, and can't wait to see what you each do in your own families.
